Hyperpigmentation Treatment at Brampton Cosmetic

Hyperpigmentation is the darkening of skin in small patches or large areas, due to increased melanin production. Commonly, we see hyperpigmentation occur as a result of:

  • Melasma – a darkening of the skin due to changes in hormones. It is often referred to as the “mask of pregnancy” since estrogen and progesterone sensitivity are also closely related to this condition, but can also occur from birth control, hormone therapies, and stress.
  • Sunspots or Liver Spots – these small spots of darker skin appear from excess sun exposure over time, most commonly occurring on areas exposed to the sun, such as the face and hands.
  • Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation – occurring because of injury or trauma to the skin, this type of hyperpigmentation can result from acne or even surgery.

Available Treatments

The appropriate hyperpigmentation treatments will be determined following an initial consultation, due to the wide range of possible causes, however, there are many effective options.

Procedures

We offer various facials including the Ultra Bright Facial and the Intensive Peel Facial that target hyperpigmentation concerns. We also offer specific hyperpigmentation skincare treatments featuring the ‘Me Line’ product line. The Bela MD Bio Infusion, bEven and bBright serums, as well as the InnoPen Microneedling treatment are all also recommended for addressing hyperpigmentation. Another great treatment is our Photorejuvenation procedure or the Forever Young Broad Band Light (BBL) procedure, also referred to as IPL or Photofacial. Photorejuvenation uses light energy to address skin conditions like hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, sunspots, and other blemishes. Photorejuvenation or Photofacials can be tailored to your skin type and condition to get your desired results.
