Breast Lift
A breast lift is a procedure to lift or elevate sagging breasts, resulting in a more youthful breast contour.
Before and After – Lift Results
Before the procedure, patients typically have large breasts that sag due to age or weight.
After the breast lift procedure, you can look forward to a fuller contour that is elevated. Your breasts will have a more youthful shape to meet your desired appearance.
The breast lift procedure may also incorporate an areola lift, which is done to alter the height of the areolas and reduce their size.

Breast Lift FAQs
Patients meet Dr. Sleightholm and a qualified consultant for a consultation. Together, you will discuss your expectations and desired outcomes. This conversation helps determine the procedure’s results.
Dr. Sleightholm begins the procedure by removing excess skin.
Then, your breast tissue will be lifted to the proper location on your chest. Finally, Dr. Sleightholm reshapes the breasts to create a desirable contour. If your procedure incorporates an areola lift, Dr. Sleightholm will reposition it higher and possibly reduce its size.
Overall, this is how the breast lift procedure creates a more youthful look.
There will be scarring around areolas and vertical lines from the areolas to the crease below each breast. Some patients may leave the procedure with a scar in the breast fold.
But with time, scars flatten and fade. Eventually, an untrained eye will not notice them.
Patients receive breast lifts while under general anesthesia. After the procedure, you may feel moderate pain. However, it is easily controlled with pain medication.
There are certain risks associated with breast lifts. Thankfully, they are rare and you can contact Dr. Sleightholm should you have any concerns.
Procedure-related risks may include:
- Asymmetry: Typically, breasts are not perfectly symmetrical before the procedure. Though this is not a health risk, slight asymmetry may remain after undergoing a breast lift operation.
- Loss of Sensation: This is uncommon. However, partial or complete loss of sensation on a patient’s nipples and breast skin can occur. Sensation usually improves over time.
As well as these two breast lift risks that may occur after the procedure, sagging could reoccur over time.
Patients can resume light activities after about 10 days. Shortly after – if you feel ready and willing – you can resume work and your day-to-day routine.
Keep in mind that you must wear a supportive bra for six week after receiving breast lifts.
