Fillers are a non-surgical way of adding volume and creating symmetry in the lips. At Brampton Cosmetic, we use hyaluronic acid-based fillers to achieve a hydrated, natural looking pout. Hyaluronic acid is a substance naturally found within the body and is completely safe to use.

Lip Flips versus Dermal Lip Fillers
Lip flips and lip fillers are two different lip enhancement techniques. They both produce fuller-looking lips.
A lip flip involves injecting a small amount of Botox above the lip. It is ideal for individuals wanting to reduce a “gummy” smile and give the illusion that their upper lip is fuller.
Lip fillers actually add volume to the lips with the injection of hyaluronic acid-based fillers.

STYLAGE® Filler For Lips
Stylage®, by VIVACY is an innovative, safe hyaluronic acid filler range which is used for lip augmentation to enhance volume. At Brampton Cosmetic Clinic, we offer a variety of Stylage® fillers to cater to individual aesthetic goals, including Stylage® XL, S, M, and L.
We generally use Stylage® M for lip injections which creates a smooth, plump look which is visible immediately. However, we may also use Stylage® S for more subtle volume or Stylage® L for more intense volume. We can tailor each treatment to the patient’s specific concerns and the areas being treated, ensuring personalized results.
Results will last for several months, depending on the type of filler used, the amount injected, and the individual.
Juvederm™ Dermal Lip Filler
Juvederm— one of our most popular dermal fillers—turns hyaluronic acid from an acid into a gel, helping it last much longer upon injection. The two types of Juvederm fillers we use most often for the lips are Volbella® and Juvederm® Ultra Plus.
The results, which are frequently achieved through a single treatment, can last for up to one year. Your skin’s natural tone and condition will affect this, as will lifestyle factors like whether or not you smoke. You might need subsequent touch-ups to ensure you maintain your desired outcome.
Teosyal™ Dermal Lip Filler
Teosyal™ is an injectable dermal filler that gives your skin additional hyaluronic acid to naturally:

The two types of Teosyal™ fillers we use most often for the lips are Teosyal Kiss and Teosyal RHA.
Frequently Asked Questions About Lip Fillers
Yes, lip fillers are completely safe. The fillers we use are hyaluronic acid-based, which is a substance naturally found within the body. All of our nurse injectors are trained and certified.
Yes, hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved. This is done by injecting enzymes called hyaluronidase, which breaks down the hyaluronic acid in the filler. The process can take several hours to a few days to complete.
Lip injections can cause minor side effects including swelling, itchiness, bruising, and mild pain. Conditions should subside within the first two weeks (often within the first few days).

On average, most lip fillers can last from 6 to 12 months. The longevity of your fillers depends on your body and lifestyle. For example, smokers may require more frequent touch ups than non-smokers.
We advise clients to wait until after the topical anesthetic wears off. This way, you won’t accidentally bite your lips when eating. We also recommend you avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours. Alcohol thins your blood and could exaggerate any bruising.
Additionally, you should avoid drinking with straws or smoking for at least 24 hours so that the filler isn’t disturbed.
We recommend avoiding strenuous activities, not sleeping on the injection site, and advise you to rest with the head elevated immediately after the procedure.
Overall, dermal injections don’t require much downtime. We encourage you to return to work and daily activities once symptoms subside.
If you suffer from the herpes simplex virus (cold sores), please make sure you advise us. We will ask you about this prior to your treatment and on your health questionnaire.
In most cases we will advise against receiving lip injections if you have active cold sores, as that can cause the rashes to spread. If the virus has been dormant for some time, we still require that you take any medication that has been prescribed both before and after any treatment sessions to reduce the risk of reactivating it. Brampton Cosmetic can provide you with a prescription for an antiviral medication if required.
