Frequently Asked Questions About Under Eye Fillers
An experienced injection specialist oversees under eye filler treatments to ensure your safety and comfort. Similar to Botox, the injections are given after treatment areas are cleansed. The procedure is done as patients lay on an exam table in a slightly raised position or sit upright.
The length of each procedure depends on the patient’s desired outcomes and the condition of treatment areas.
Because your eyes are more sensitive, it is normal to feel some pain (typically a pinching sensation) as the needle enters you skin. Our injection specialists will apply a topical numbing cream to the treatment areas in advance, and all the dermal fillers we use contain lidocaine, a medication used to numb the tissue.
Should you feel any excessive pain, tell the injection specialist.
Under eye injections can cause some minor side effects including swelling, itchiness, bruising, and mild pain. Conditions should subside within the first two weeks (often within the first few days).
If symptoms worsen, contact us.
We recommend avoiding strenuous activities, not sleeping on the injection site, and advise you to rest with the head elevated immediately after the procedure.
Overall, dermal injections don’t require much downtime. We encourage you to return to work and daily activities once symptoms subside.
