“I would like to sing the praises of Dr. Robert Sleightholm of the Brampton Cosmetic Surgery Center and Medical Spa. On Feb. 1, 2012, Dr. Sleightholm performed a tummy tuck and liposuction on me.

What you need to know is that I am 66 years old and have worked to keep a slim figure. However, I had a lot of stretch marks and very loose skin on my stomach. All of this was the result of having my first child at the age of 19. After having children, my stomach no longer looked the way it did before pregnancy.

A lot of people think that cosmetic surgery is unnecessary. What I know is that at the young age of 19, my stomach was awful to look at. Never again would I feel comfortable showing my stomach to my husband or looking at myself in the mirror.

Finally, after 47 years, I can now look at my stomach and feel wonderful. I even went out and bought myself a two-piece swimsuit.

“I was referred to Dr. Sleightholm from my family physician that I have been with for over 25 years. I met with Dr. Sleightholm for a consultation regarding a tummy tuck and liposuction.

Upon arrival to his office I was greeted by a pleasant, professional staff and was given information regarding the procedure. Dr. Sleightholm explained how the procedure would be done in a professional manner and made me feel comfortable.

Let me start by expressing my deepest gratitude for all you have done for my daughter. You have given her life back.

My journey began April 11, 2014 with our initial consultation with Julienna and Dr. Sleightholm. My daughter had a very large lipoma and she had been wearing scarves for years to cover it up, as it was on her clavicle.

Upon walking into the clinic, I told my daughter, “If you aren’t comfortable, then we will leave.” It suffices to say that we stayed. Julienna and Dr. Sleightholm made us feel right at home.

Her surgery was scheduled for April 28. On that day, everyone was wonderful to her. They explained everything. Dr. Sleightholm also came in to tell us what was going to happen. He was kind and gentle with my daughter, who was very scared.

The surgery went without a hitch, and she is a new girl.

She is happy to not wear scarves, and it wouldn’t have been possible with the consideration and kindness shown to us by Dr. Sleightholm and his wonderful staff members.

It’s funny, but somehow “thanks” doesn’t seem like a big enough word for what you all have done for my daughter. But until a bigger word is created, “thanks” will have to do.

“I have always been a larger woman. But over the years, my weight fluctuated more up than down.

At one point, I was more than 300 pounds. I worked hard and it took two or three years, but I lost more than 130 pounds.

I am now 45 years old and finally feel healthy. But I still didn’t feel good about my body image. I had loose skin and fat deposits that, no matter how hard I worked, wouldn’t go away. I had sagging breasts much of my life. But since losing all the weight, they sagged more. My belly sagged and I had a skin fold. I would have sores and itchiness under the fold.

I originally went to a different plastic surgeon to get a tummy tuck. He did what he said he would do, and that was it. After my first surgery, I felt better but was not completely happy with the result or my after-care. After six weeks, no one from that clinic contacted me again.

I had other surgeries that I wanted to do, so I decided to look around and that is when I found Dr. Sleightholm and his staff.

I first met Julienna, Stephanie, and Lisa. They are wonderful. They made me feel welcome and comfortable. I was then was introduced to Claudia, the surgery consultant. I showed Claudia my “before” picture prior to my weight loss. She made me feel so good about myself. I told her that I had had a previous surgery and what I was looking for this time. She went through everything with me, and then introduced me to Dr. Sleightholm.

He was amazing! Claudia and Dr. Sleightholm spent almost an hour going over what I could expect from the surgery, including results and complications that I could have. It was more than I could ever have expected.

I had more conversations with Dr. Sleightholm in that one hour than I did with my previous surgeon through my whole consultation, surgery, and follow-up. I knew Dr. Sleightholm valued his patients and was attentive to their needs. I booked my surgery.

On Dec. 17, 2012, I went to the clinic for my procedures. Everyone was so wonderful. They made me feel comfortable, answering all my questions and concerns.

I was in a state-of-the-art room with well-qualified nurses and an anesthetist that all made me feel at ease.

I soon woke up in recovery and Dr. Sleightholm was there to see how I was doing. I stayed overnight in recovery and had a nurse who looked after me. Dr. Sleightholm stayed most of the time I was in recovery, too.

His follow up-care is second to none.

My post-surgery care has been great, as well. The staff members and Dr. Sleightholm follow through on everything.

I am five months into my recovery and I love the work that Dr. Sleightholm did! I finally feel proportioned and like my body. I have never looked better. I am ecstatic with the outcome of my surgery and I continue to visit the clinic for my skin care and any non-surgical procedures.

If I ever decide to have another surgical procedure, I would only have Dr. Sleightholm perform it.

“I am 29 years old, and a mother of one. For years, I contemplated a breast augmentation and tummy tuck. When I was pregnant with my daughter, I got stretch marks and had a little “ponch” after she was born that never went away no matter how thin I was. Growing up, I never liked my breasts.
